After a very long and exceptionally cold winter,
we enjoyed a Hawaiin Get-away recently with
Jeff & Julie on the island of Oahu.
We also went for the marriage of our niece,
Britney Garrett to Jacob Katutu
Our home away from home--
The Marriott Ko Olina resort in Kapolei
Just one word to describe this place---amazing!!
The resort was so great we wanted to just hang out
there at the Lagoon, soak up the sun and drink
our Pina Colada's!
We did venture out to the Aloha Stadium
swap meet which fulfilled our shopping needs
On Wednesday we met up with other family
members and enjoyed snorkeling at
Hanauma Bay
With Gary golf is essential and Hawaii is no
exception. He & Jeff enjoyed their day at Makaha
Valley Counrty Club, another day Gary golfed
at the Ko Olina resort course . . .
. . . but the real "gem" of the trip was this course
on the North Shore at Kahuku (HaHa)
You didn't golf here because of the beautiful fairways
and smooth greens, you only golfed here for the
scenery which you can see in the background!
On Friday we enjoyed the Polynesian Culture Center
in spite of the pouring rain
Our favorite was the village of Samoa
The "Ha" show was great and we had fun
watching Jacob perform
The Hawaii temple is beautiful and we were
so happy we could be there for the sealing of
Britney & Jacob
Highlights of this trip . . .
The beautiful resort & scenery . . .
Snorkeling with Grandpa . . .
Shaved ice on the North Shore . . .
And being in the temple with people I love.
A little bit of sadness as the sun set on this trip,
but already looking forward to the day we can
return to the island of Aloha!
